BRAZIL

Brazil is ranked 38th in 2014, going up one place from its 39th in 2012. As a still developing country, it populated the lower half of the index in the rankings along with Indonesia and Mexico. Brazil also has slowly been improving its education system, becoming equipped with much more public and private sector schools. The private sector schools are of a far superior nature, but are costly, while the public sector schooling is free of charge. With about 51,000,000 students enrolled in basic (fundamental) education, whom about 43,000,000 are in the public school system and 8,000,000 are in the private school system, it is not a failing system, but actually shown a lot of improvement.
